There's nothing better than treating myself to a sweet Starbucks drink at the end of a long week.

With so many deliciously sweet options to choose from, it's easy to struggle to pick the best one for you.

Don't worry - I put my sweet tooth to the test and selected the best drinks on the Starbucks menu.

Let's dive into some sweet treats!

Starbucks genuinely has something for everyone, and there's so much to choose from.

Here are my favorite hot or cold options so you can get your sweet fix all year round!

Cold Sweet Starbucks Drinks

1. Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino Blended Beverage

Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino

The Java Chip Frappuccino is the first drink on my list, and for good reason- it's the sweetest Starbucks drink.[1]

It's made by taking an espresso shot, milk, ice, mocha sauce, and Frappuccino chips and blending them together.

From that first delicious sip, my tastebuds were forever changed - this is basically a chocolate shake with an extra kick of caffeine!

This sweet Starbucks drink is all about chocolate, (which is exactly why it was one of my first EVER Starbucks drinks!) but still has a whopping 105mg of caffeine

It has a whopping 80g of sugar and holds 560 calories, which is about the same as a small meal, so it's guaranteed to give you a sugar rush!

2. Starbucks Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino

Starbucks Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino

Coming in a close second in the sweetness race is the Caramel Ribbon Crunch.

It’s made with coffee, milk, ice, six pumps of dark caramel sauce, and then topped with whipped cream, extra crunchy caramel sugar topping, and caramel drizzle.

It's incredibly rich and sweet, so I tend to only order it in a Tall, but I can't stop coming back for more!

It has 78g of sugar and 570 calories in one serving, so it’s certainly not for those on a diet

There's 140mg of caffeine in it, which is exactly why it was a study time staple for me as a teen.

If you love the sweet taste of caramel syrup like me, then you’re going to love this sweet Starbucks drink.

3. Starbucks Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino (Caffeine-Free)

Starbucks Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino

When I want to treat my nieces and nephews to a sweet dessert drink that won't have them bouncing off the walls, I get them this. It's the creamy, caffeine-free version of the drink above.

The lack of espresso gives it a slightly different flavor profile and makes it lighter colored, but it still has a lot of sweetness.

It’s made with 5 extra pumps of dark caramel syrup and more crunchy caramel sugar topping, so you still get roughly the same amount of energy from it, with over 500 calories per serving and 60g of sugar per serving.

I can't get enough of how buttery smooth this drink is - plus, the creaminess cuts through the sweetness to prevent a total sugar coma.

I love being able to enjoy caramel flavors with my kids without getting an earful at bedtime from their parents!

4. Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino

Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino

White chocolate is the sweet queen of the chocolate world - of course I adore this White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino!

It’s made with white chocolate roast coffee, milk, ice, mocha syrup, and whipped cream to give a smooth and luxurious taste.

The unique white chocolate coffee beans bring a whole new note to this symphony that makes it a refreshing change from a standard mocha drink.

I never thought of white chocolate and coffee as a hit combo - now I've really changed my tune!

It’s got 67g of sugar and has 505 calories per serving.

5. Starbucks Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino

Starbucks Chocolate Cookie Crumble Creme Frapuccino

Cookies and cream meets a chocolatey dream with this Frappuccino dessert drink!

It’s made by blending chocolate chips with milk, ice, and mocha sauce, and then topped with vanilla whipped cream, chocolate cookie crumble, and even more mocha drizzle.

I love ordering the Chocolate Cookie Crumble Creme Frappuccino when I'm really craving a chocolatey dessert.

As chocolate shake fiend, I will always be happy to indulge my sweet tooth with this Starbucks Frappuccino.

A single serving has 61g of sugar and 560 calories, making it one of the most calorific sweet drink options on the menu.

6. Starbucks Iced Caramel Macchiato

Starbucks Iced Caramel Macchiato

I love ordering an Iced Caramel Macchiato when it's hot out but I still want to sip on one of my fave everyday Starbucks drinks.

The iced coffee version of the popular caramel macchiato drink is made with espresso, ice, vanilla syrup, and caramel drizzle.

It's slightly larger than a regular macchiato, and the addition of ice takes some of the edge off of the espresso, making it smoother to drink.

I love ordering mine with oat milk for an even creamier take.

It’s got 250 calories and 53g of sugar per serving of this iced coffee, which is a lot, but it’s less than most other drinks on this list.

The Iced Caramel Macchiato is the perfect summer drink for coffee lovers with a sweet tooth.

Tips From A Barista
  • Want to cut the sugar content even more? Try switching to sugar-free vanilla syrup

7. Starbucks Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte

Starbucks Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte with Oat Milk

The unique spicy and sweet flavors in this latte make it one of the only cold coffee drinks I'll order in autumn or winter.

It's made with espresso, ice, steamed milk, and cinnamon dolce syrup, and then topped with Starbucks sweetened cream and cinnamon dolce sprinkles.

This gives it a warm, slightly spiced taste in every mouthful that immediately makes me think of long walks under falling leaves.

It has 52g of sugar and 300 calories in each serving, so it's not the unhealthiest on this list.

It's the combination of flavors that make this iced Starbucks drink stand out - I just can't stop ordering it when it gets chilly out.

Tips From A Barista
  • Want to cut the sugar but still enjoy a spiced treat? Try switching to sugar-free cinnamon dolce syrup

8. Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino

Starbucks Strawberry Creme Frappuccino

This drink makes me feel like I've traveled back in time to the 1950s and I'm ordering a fresh milkshake after school.

It’s one of the fruitiest and sweetest Starbucks drinks and is made from strawberry puree, milk, and ice. It’s then topped with some whipped cream with vanilla flavored syrup mixed in, and extra strawberry puree - delightful!

Sweet, creamy, heavy on the strawberry - who can argue with a fresh strawberries and cream drink?

Despite not having any Starbucks classic syrup in this iced drink still has 52g of sugar and is 320 calories per serving.

Tips From A Barista
  • Want to up the strawberry ante? Try asking for extra strawberry puree
  • Want a funky fruity combo? Ask your barista what other fruits and purees are available

Sometimes I want to shake up my usual cozy Mocha- enter the White Chocolate Mocha.

It has an espresso base mixed with white chocolate sauce and steamed milk, and it’s topped with sweetened whipped cream.

As someone who started their coffee-loving journey with mochas, drinking this white chocolate version feels like a warm, energy-filled hug.

This sweet, chocolatey, creamy dream is just what I need when I get sad about it getting dark at 4 pm.

White chocolate mocha coffees are offered year-round in all Starbucks.[2]

It has 67g of sugar per serving and provides 410 calories in each cup. It’s also got a bigger caffeine hit than the other sweetest drinks on the list, with 150mg from the espresso

10. Starbucks Smoked Butterscotch Crème

Starbucks Smoked Butterscotch Creme Frappuccino

When I'm heading to an early evening fall bonfire, there is only one drink I wanna be wrapping my cold hands around - the Smoked Butterscotch Creme.

Butterscotch is made by mixing brown sugar and butter, and this light drink captures that flavor.

Something about this reminds me of sitting by a campfire with my grandmother having butterscotch sweets.

It's made with Starbucks smoked butterscotch syrup, steamed milk, and milk foam.

There's no espresso or coffee in the mix, so it should be fine for kids, but adults generally prefer the slightly smoky flavor.

The smoked butterscotch crème has 54g of sugar in a serving and 360 calories which is less than a lot of drinks on this list, but still probably a drink to be enjoyed sparingly.

11. Starbucks Caramel Apple Spice

Starbucks Caramel Apple Spice

One of my ultimate fall pleasures is the Caramel Apple Spice. As an apple juice and cider lover, of course I'm obsessed with this spiced treat.

This simple drink has steamed apple juice with cinnamon syrup as a base with whipped cream and caramel sauce on top.

The natural sweetness of the steamed apple juice, with the added sugary syrup makes this one of the most unique and sweeter Starbucks drinks on the list, with 71 grams of sugar and 320 calories.

This seasonal drink reminds me of the hot mulled apple juice that my family makes throughout the fall months - I love ordering it when I'm feeling homesick in the fall.

12. Starbucks Blonde Smoked Butterscotch Latte

Sometimes, I want my daily latte to have a little more oomph - enter the Blonde Smoked Butterscotch Latte.

A Starbucks blonde smoked butterscotch latte is made with a double shot of blonde espresso roast, steamed milk, frothed milk, and lots of butterscotch syrup and sauce.

The smoky aftertaste brings a certain level of sophistication while also reminding me of late nights by a campfire while the creamy sweetness is like my grandma's hard candies - perfection!

This drink brings you 225mg of caffeine, making it the perfect choice for those who need their coffee fix. It has 46 grams of sugar and 290 calories, which is actually the second lowest on this list - talk about a win!

13. Starbucks Chai Latte

Starbucks Iced Chai Latte with Pumpkin Cream Cold Foam

A chai latte is a beautifully light drink that comes from Indian culture. Chai means tea, and the Chai Latte is designed to emulate the Indian flavor.

It’s made using black tea concentrate, cinnamon, cardamom, and clove. It's then topped with steamed milk and sweeteners to create the perfect balance of spice and sweetness in one cup.

I always order a chai latte when I want a warm spiced hug in a mug - I ordered these all the time growing up, so this is a real nostalgia pick to me.

They don’t taste as sugary as other drinks, but they still have 51 grams of sugar and there are 240 calories per serving.

With only 95mg of caffeine, this is a great sweet coffee drink for tea lovers.

14. Starbucks Caramel Macchiato

When I need to find a balance between my sweet tooth and an everyday order, I turn to ol' reliable - the humble Caramel Macchiato.

It's made with an espresso base, topped with steamed milk and vanilla syrup, with caramel sauce drizzled on top.

This sweet yet strong drink is actually the least sweet option on this list, which is great for when I want to avoid going into a sugar coma.

Despite having 41 grams of sugar content and 250 calories per serving, the caramel macchiato is actually a lot healthier than some other Starbucks sweet beverages.

15. Starbucks White Hot Chocolate

Starbucks White Hot Chocolate

A Starbucks White Hot Chocolate is caffeine-free and super sugary, making it a popular choice with younger drinkers.

It’s made with chocolate sauce, steamed milk, white chocolate mocha syrup, and whipped cream and has a massive 540 calories per serving.

The Starbucks white hot chocolate is the sweetest hot chocolate on the menu with 55 grams of sugar per cup.

This slightly sickly sweet hot chocolate is a huge hit with my nieces and nephews - it's a little sweet and rich for me so I tend to just enjoy a Tall mocha version.

Ordering Low Calorie Sweet Drinks At Starbucks

The sweetest Starbucks drinks tend to have a lot of calories, and realistically you're looking at 300-600 calories per serving.

This isn’t ideal for those on a diet, but there are a few ways you can reduce the sugar content and make your drink less calorific:

  • Switch Syrup
You shouldn’t really change the number of flavored syrup pumps in a drink because it will impact the flavor, but you can switch to a Starbucks sugar-free drink syrup. This will reduce the number of calories and sugar in the drink to make it slightly healthier. It's not available for some flavors, like the brown sugar syrup, or coffee syrup, but you can get a sugar free vanilla syrup or white chocolate mocha sauce.
  • Reduce Cup Size
The easiest way to reduce calories is to make the serving size smaller. Switching to a smaller Starbucks cup size will help you consume fewer calories and less sugar.
  • Change Milk
The majority of Starbucks sweet beverages are made with whole milk to give a richer flavor. You can ask to change to skimmed milk or to an alternative milk product with fewer calories.[3Coconut milk is usually best because it's really creamy, but oat milk, and almond milk work too - though almond milk can be a bit thin. Plant based milks might not be an option with every drink, but it's always worth asking the barista.

The lowest calorie sweet drinks tend to be smaller and have a higher coffee content - Starbucks cold brew iced coffees have a ton of caffeine and barely any calories.

If you want the lowest calorie Starbucks sweet drink, you should try a caramel macchiato or a flavored blonde latte.
