Starbucks has introduced another trend that everyone loves - cold foam.

My new addiction is made from nonfat milk, using a special blender to create the smooth, textured foam.

So if you love a decadent, creamy topping on your beverage, I've compiled my top cold foam drinks to help you get started.

If you love cold foam in cold drinks (where it should be!), I have listed down the top Starbucks cold foam drinks you should try.

1. Vanilla Sweet Cream Nitro Cold Brew

Vanilla Sweet Cream Nitro Cold Brew
  • Caffeine content: 210 mg
  • Cold foam used: Almond milk vanilla sweet cream cold foam
  • Vegan drink: Yes

On days when not even regular coffee will wake me up, I turn to my new fave energy-giving cold drink - the Vanilla Sweet Cream Nitro Cold Brew.[1]

If you haven’t heard of nitro cold brews, this type of brew infuses nitrogen in the drink, resulting in a sweeter brew without adding any white or brown sugar.

In addition to the sweetness from the nitrogen, this nitro brew drink uses a vanilla sweet cream topping, and some vanilla syrup, balancing out the flavors of the high caffeine Starbucks drink.

I first tried this iced vanilla latte style drink when it initially came out - I instantly became hooked! I love how sweet and smooth it is, especially on days when I can't keep my eyes open.

Tips From A Barista
  • You can ask for oat milk (or any alternative milk) to be used to make the cold foam - just remember it may not foam as well as standard dairy cold foam
  • You can choose any flavor cold foam - I love shaking it up with chocolate or salted caramel cold foam

2. Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte

Starbucks Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte
  • Caffeine content: 150 mg
  • Cold foam used: Vanilla sweet cream cold foam
  • Vegan drink: No

I can't get enough of the sweet and woody flavor of cinnamon, especially when fall rolls around. Every year, this Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte is one of the best Starbucks cinnamon drink items for me.

The Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte uses fresh milk, iced espresso, cinnamon-flavored syrup, and vanilla sweet cold foam cream to create the perfect cinnamon drink.

The combination of vanilla, cinnamon, and coffee always smells so good. Plus, this looks so cute with cold foam and dusted cinnamon on top.

The spicy undernote of the cinnamon syrup gives this cold drink a little kick, which is ideal for when I want a drink with a little more bite to it.

3. Iced Caffe Mocha

Iced Caffè Mocha
  • Caffeine content: 175 mg
  • Cold foam used: Regular or vanilla sweet cream cold foam
  • Vegan drink: No

If you love the classics like me, then the Iced Caffe Mocha is the perfect cup for you.

It’s just like your regular Caffe Mocha drink but served cold with a creamy, velvety cold foam topping.

I always get so nostalgic when I sip on one - I started getting into coffee by drinking these (a tactical choice since I am a chocolate milk fiend) so I always remember studying for exams with one in hand.

I adore adding vanilla cold foam for an almost milkshake like final drink - delicious!

This cold drink is ideal for hot summer days. But beware, this cup is addicting.

Tips From A Barista
  • Want to up the chocolate ante? Order your Iced Caffe Mocha with chocolate cold foam

4. Honey Almond Milk Nitro Cold Brew

Honey Almond-milk Nitro Cold Brew
  • Caffeine content: 290 mg
  • Cold foam used: Regular or sweet vanilla cream cold foam
  • Vegan drink: Yes, if you leave out the foam

We all know how strong nitro cold brews are even compared to regular cold brew, but this drink makes them a bit softer and sweeter to drink.

The Honey Almond Milk Nitro Cold Brew uses honey and almond milk to make you forget your drink is loaded with caffeine.

I prefer swapping out the almond milk for oat milk for an even smoother and creamier texture but the original is wonderfully nutty and sweet.

The flavor can be addicting, but the effects can be pretty intense, especially if you’re not used to highly caffeinated drinks.

In fact, one serving of this Starbucks cold drink is equivalent to three iced espresso drinks, so you do need to be careful!

Tips From A Barista
  • Not into almond milk? This tastes just as great with other alternative milks like oat milk

5. Iced London Fog Tea Latte with Cold Foam

Iced London Fog Tea Latte with Cold Foam
  • Caffeine content: 40 mg
  • Cold foam used: Regular or vanilla cold foam
  • Vegan drink: No

As a tea-lover at heart, I absolutely adore the London Fog Tea Latte - especially with a little vanilla cold foam!

The Iced London Fog Tea Latte with Starbucks Cold Foam combines vanilla syrup and lavender flavors with a bit of kick of bergamot that’s topped with the meringue-like, creamy cold foam.

This iced tea brings me straight to the streets of London from my first sip. It always makes me want to crack open a mystery novel and get cozy.

So, when I fancy a tea with a twist, I go for this London fog ice-cold beverage.

Tips From A Barista
  • Want a stronger tea taste? Ask for no water and light ice with your tea order
  • Need to get cozy? Order it hot for a delicious change

6. Iced Matcha Tea Latte with Cold Foam

Iced Matcha Tea Latte with Cold Foam
  • Caffeine content: 80 mg
  • Cold foam used: Regular cold foam or vanilla cold foam
  • Vegan drink: No

Honestly, there are days when I prefer tea over coffee (don't tell my fellow writers!) On those days, it feels like the Iced Matcha Tea Latte with Cold Foam drink was made for me!

This drink is made from matcha combined with milk, resulting in a refreshing, milky flavor that I love. It smells so sweet and earthy and the pastel green is so cute - I immediately want to dive in and enjoy.

The added cold foam topping makes it more interesting as it gives a sweet aftertaste to my every sip.

However, some people don’t can’t stand the strong flavor of matcha, so if you’re not familiar with the taste, you may find it a little distinct.

Tips From A Barista
  • Matcha tastes incredible with chocolate - try it with chocolate cold foam for a new taste experience

7. Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew

Salted Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew
  • Caffeine content: 185 mg
  • Cold foam used: Salted caramel cream cold foam
  • Vegan drink: No

Salty and sweet desserts are such an addiction for me, especially when combined with caffeine - so you can see why I'm absolutely hooked on the Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew!

Salted caramel isn’t a new flavor, but using it in a cold coffee-based beverage shakes things up nicely for me.

The Starbucks cold brew drink itself has its own appeal but pairing it with salted cream allows you to experience a whole new flavor experience.[2]

8. Salted Caramel Nitro Cold Brew

Salted Caramel Nitro Cold Brew
  • Caffeine content: 270 mg
  • Cold foam used: Salted caramel cream cold foam
  • Vegan drink: No

Honestly, all Starbucks salted caramel drinks are a hit for me, including the Salted Caramel Nitro Cold Brew.

It’s essentially just the Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew drink but uses the famous Nitro Brew instead of the regular cold brew.

The cold foam makes a great alternative to regular whipped cream and brings a lovely creaminess that I can't get enough of. This incredibly smooth drink smells divine and is perfectly sweet and balanced - plus the caffeine kick does wonders for my mood!

So if you’re looking for a stronger kick on your salted caramel coffee beverage, this caramel cream cold brew is for you.

9. Iced White Chocolate Mocha

Iced White Chocolate Mocha
  • Caffeine content: 150 mg
  • Cold foam used: Salted caramel cream cold foam
  • Vegan drink: No

White chocolate mocha on ice is not new on the menu - I've been sipping on this absolute delight for years!

When I want a lighter version of this drink, request to substitute the whipped cream for cold foam.

The creamy, velvety cold foam slowly blends in with the drink, giving it a softer and creamier texture that makes it easier to drink compared to the whipped cream version.

Sweet, tasty, cute - what more could I ask for?

Tips From A Barista
  • White chocolate has so many delicious possible taste combos - I love ordering the Iced White Chocolate Mocha with matcha cold foam or salted caramel cold foam

10. Iced Starbucks Blonde Cappuccino with Cold Foam

Iced Starbucks Blonde Cappuccino with Cold Foam
  • Caffeine content: 170 mg
  • Cold foam used: Caramel cream cold foam
  • Vegan drink: No

Another unique blonde espresso Starbucks drink that you should try is Iced Starbucks Blonde Cappuccino with Cold Foam.

When I want a lighter body on my iced coffee, I go for this beverage. However, since it uses blonde roast coffee, the acidity is higher than regular coffee.

So, if you’re trying to avoid acids, I suggest leaving this iced cold foam cappuccino for those with stronger guts. I mean, I still order it but my suffering is worth it for the deliciousness.

I love ordering this when I don't want to get fancy but still want something just a little different in my everyday coffee.

11. Cold Brew With Cascara Cold Foam

Cold Brew With Cascara Cold Foam
  • Caffeine content: 190 mg
  • Cold foam used: Cascara cold foam
  • Vegan drink: No

One of the first cold foam coffee drinks on the menu, the Cold Brew with Cascara Cold Foam, gives me all the balanced sweetness I need in my iced coffee drink.

It is made with brown sugar and maple syrup, topped with cascara and a little bit of vanilla syrup that creates the right blend of flavors.

There's something so comforting about this drink for me. I just love how it smells and the flavors are unique without being overly sweet.

12. Blackberry Caramel Macchiato

Violet Drink with Cold Foam From Starbucks
  • Caffeine content: 150 mg
  • Cold foam used: Vanilla sweet cream cold foam blended with blackberries
  • Vegan drink: Yes, if you leave out the foam or use an alt milk

I love getting berries in my drinks, so I just had try this secret menu Blackberry Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks!

It’s basically an Iced Macchiato, combined with ice, blackberries, and caramel drizzle but topped with blackberry-blended sweet cream cold foam for that refreshing, fruity taste with a twist.

Something about this combo feels like having a berries and ice cream sundae on a hot day - I love it!

It's so cute and tastes so fun - I love ordering this when it's sunny out for the instant summer vibes.

13. Pink Drink with Cold Foam

Starbucks Pink Drink with Cold Foam
  • Caffeine content: 45 mg
  • Cold foam used: Regular cold foam
  • Vegan drink: Yes, if you leave out the foam

Another fruity drink that you should try from Starbucks is the Pink Drink with Cold Foam.

This cold foam pink drink blends the popular strawberry and acai berry beverage with passion fruit and coconut milk, producing a delectable drink.

Again, Starbucks is out here working magic because I love this drink - even with the coconut milk! It feels so creamy and the cold foam only adds to that lovely smooth mouthfeel.

This iced drink is irresistible as it is, but the cold foam on top of the pink drink takes it to a whole different flavor level for me. Plus, it's so cute!

Tips From A Barista
  • Try asking for chocolate mocha syrup in the cold foam for a chocolate twist
  • Try adding strawberry puree and three pumps of white mocha sauce for a Material Girl twist

14. Dragon Drink with Cold Foam

Dragon Drink with Cold Foam
  • Caffeine content: 45 mg
  • Cold foam used: Regular cold foam
  • Vegan drink: Yes, if you leave out the foam

I admit, I ordered this for the first time just because the name was cool and it looked pretty.

However, I then got to experience a tropical punch I never expected from a Starbucks drink.

The cold foam dragon drink is made with real pieces of dragon fruit, mango chunks, and coconut milk with a sweet cream cold foam topping. I'm a sucker for anything with mango and cold foam, so of course I love this!

It looks cool and is so fruity yet different - an absolute delight in the summer!

Tips From A Barista
  • Not into dragon fruit? Try asking for other fruit or asking for double mango instead

15. Nitro Cold Brew with Cascara Cold Foam

Nitro Cold Brew with Cascara Cold Foam
  • Caffeine content: 270 mg
  • Cold foam used: Cascara cold foam
  • Vegan drink: No

When I need more than a little caffeine boost to get through the day, this Nitro Cold Brew is the perfect pick-me-up drink.

Packed with 270mg of caffeine, this powerhouse always helps me focus no matter how busy my day is.

I love the subtle cherry notes in the fluffy cold foam combined with the strong taste of brewed coffee.

This tasty drink is a perfect alternative to plain cold brew coffee and always perks me up.

What Exactly Is Starbucks Cold Foam?

Cold foam is milk frothed without heat or steam, producing a thick and creamy meringue-like foam. It is perfect for topping for iced coffee, cold lattes, iced cold brew, and many more cold drinks.

The regular foam is made by frothing milk using hot steam, allowing microbubbles to form. This foam is used on top of hot drinks like lattes and cappuccinos. However, standard foam doesn't hold well on top of cold drinks.

Enter cold foam!

Starbucks offer various cold foam flavors including vanilla sweet cream cold foam, plain cold foam, caramel cold foam, and even pumpkin cream cold foam.

The vanilla sweet cream cold foam is most popular, and if you don't specify then it's probably vanilla cold foam on your drink.

Just let your barista know you want cold foam added to your drinks.

There are different types of cold foam, including almond milk, pumpkin cream cold brew, raspberry cold foam, and vanilla sweet cream cold foam.

What is sweet cream cold foam at Starbucks?

Sweet cream cold foam is a combination of 2% milk, heavy cream, and vanilla syrup that’s whipped using a cold foam blender.

It can be used to transform your average cold drink or hot drink and make it a much more creamy drink option.

Can you add cold foam to any Starbucks drink?

Of course, you can add cold foam to any drink! Starbucks has a range of other cold foam flavors which means they can be added to all your favorite drinks.

Which Starbucks cold drink is the best?

One of the best Starbucks cold drinks is the Iced Caffe Mocha. It has a balanced taste of sweetness and bitterness that you’ll enjoy any time of the day.

You can also add a layer of vanilla sweet cream foam to make this iced drink even better! If you're a caffeine lover you should consider a cold brew though.

Conclusion

Cold foams are made for cold brews, but now, this velvety topping can be used for almost any drink you want.

All of these drinks are great, but I definitely have a bias towards the Iced White Chocolate Mocha for its sweet nostalgia factor and the Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew for its intense flavor.

If you like to challenge yourself, try out every drink from this list so that you can find out the best one for your taste.
