Caramel Macchiato Standard Ingredients
  • Milk
  • Brewed Espresso
  • Vanilla Syrup
  • Caramel Sauce

A Caramel Macchiato is a long-time member of my regular Starbucks drink rotation. This coffee drink is made with espresso, vanilla syrup, caramel drizzle, milk, and cream.[1]

The caramel drizzle tends to blend better in hot drinks, so when ordering a standard caramel macchiato, the drizzle will melt into the existing drink.

I love the combination of vanilla, coffee, and caramel - there's something so sweet and comforting about them. If I could have a candle that smells like this drink I would buy it instantly!

The coffee and milk cut through the sweetness to bring a nice balance that means I can drink this lightly sweet drink first thing in the morning without feeling ill.

A tall caramel macchiato or iced caramel macchiato has roughly 250 calories.

Iced Caramel Macchiato Standard Ingredients
  • Milk
  • Ice
  • Brewed Espresso
  • Vanilla Syrup
  • Caramel Drizzle

On hot mornings where I want the familiarity of an old fave, I love ordering an Iced Caramel Macchiato.

This drink is made the same way as the standard Caramel Macchiato but made over ice for a tasty way to cool off in summer - or feed my iced coffee obsession even when it's cold out.

The caramel is part of a symphony of flavor rather than the star here, and I prefer that in my everyday orders.

The caramel drizzle added to the iced caramel macchiato doesn't blend as well as it does in hot drinks, but still adds a lovely sweetness.

This drink is roughly between 180 and 350 calories.

3. Salted Caramel Mocha

Starbucks Salted Caramel Mocha
Salted Caramel Mocha Standard Ingredients
  • espresso
  • steamed milk
  • toffee nut syrup

Treating myself to seasonal drinks is one of the best things about being a Starbucks regular. The hot salted caramel cream drink includes steamed milk, mocha sauce, toffee nut syrup, and espresso.

The sea salt topping combined with the caramel sauce tastes so good, especially when I stir it in with the mocha sauce and toffee nut syrup. The salt also brings out the delicious notes in both the coffee and syrups, which I love.

I'm a salted caramel lover so am obsessed with this drink, but the milk and coffee help stop things from getting too overwhelming.

Plus, mochas are my favorite so I'll never say no to a splash of mocha in my drinks.

The Salted Caramel Mocha is roughly 400-500 calories

4. Iced Salted Caramel Mocha

Starbucks Iced Salted Caramel Mocha
Iced Salted Caramel Mocha Standard Ingredients
  • Ice
  • espresso
  • steamed milk
  • toffee nut syrup
  • whipped cream
  • sea salt
  • caramel drizzle
  • caramel sugar topping

Sometimes I just want an iced version of a mocha but with a twist - enter the Iced Salted Caramel Mocha.

The Iced Salted Caramel Mocha is the same formula as the hot version, just poured over ice. I almost prefer it this way (but that could be the iced coffee addiction talking!)

The caramel drizzle and caramel sugar topping are the only caramel additions to this beverage, so the caramel is more of a cast member than a star here.

This item is best for Starbucks lovers who want toffee nut syrup and mocha sauce rather than caramel syrup or caramel sauce in their drink.

The Iced Salted Caramel Mocha is roughly 400-500 calories.

5. Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino

Starbucks Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino
Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino Standard Ingredients
  • ice
  • coffee Frappuccino syrup
  • Milk
  • toffee nut syrup
  • mocha sauce
  • Whipped cream
  • caramel drizzle
  • Sea salt
  • turbinado sugar

The Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino is a mix of mocha sauce and coffee Frappuccino syrup blended with toffee nut syrup to create a smooth, sweet dessert in a cup.

Milk and ice are also combined with this iced drink, turning it into a delicious caramel/mocha coffee milkshake - yum!

Whipped cream and caramel drizzle top it off for a sweet sugary surprise, along with sea salt and turbinado sugar.

This is way more of a dessert drink for me than an everyday regular order - I love ordering this perfect treat on hot summer days.

This item is roughly 400-500 calories.

6. Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew

Starbucks Iced Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew
Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew Standard Ingredients
  • cold brew
  • caramel sauce
  • salt
  • salted caramel cream cold foam

A Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew is a twist on the classic cold brew with caramel sauce and topped with a hint of salt and salted caramel cream cold foam.[2]

This beverage is smooth, rich, and savory - the perfect way for me to have an indulgent treat without feeling too guilty about it.

The less acidic cold brew helps add sweetness to the coffee and enhance the caramel sauce flavors, while keeping the drink low in calories.

This drink is roughly 200-300 calories and is the perfect start to my morning.

7. Salted Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew

Starbucks Iced Salted Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew
Salted Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew Standard Ingredients
  • nitro cold brew
  • caramel syrup
  • Cold Foam

When I am so tired that not even my usual coffee will wake me up, I reach for a Salted Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew.

The nitro cold brew is a cold beverage made in small batches for an extra velvet smooth taste.[3]

Without using sugar, the nitro cold brew still tastes sugary sweet because it is made with nitrogen (hence the "Nitro" in the name).

Starbucks baristas pour in the nitro cold brew with caramel syrup and top the drink with cold foam, just like the standard cold brew.

Cold brews are already a kick in the butt in the caffeine department, but the nitro version is a turbo kick - I'm sure to shake off the cobwebs when I sip on a Salted Caramel Cream Nitro Cold Brew.

This drink is roughly 200-300 calories and is my post-late-night-deadline savior in the morning.

Caramel Frappuccino Standard Ingredients

The Caramel Frappuccino one of the classic sugary sweet caramel drinks on my list. I've been ordering this since I was a teen and have a lot of love for it.

This item is blended with coffee Frappuccino syrup, caramel syrup, coffee, ice, and your choice of milk.

To add to the sweetness, whipped cream and additional dark caramel sauce are layered over the top of the drink.

Sometimes I just want my coffee milkshake-style with lots of milk, cream, and toppings as a little treat. If you love dessert drinks, then a caramel Frappuccino is a great option for you.

This drink is roughly 300-400 calories.

  • Crème Frappuccino syrup
  • caramel drizzle
  • whipped cream

When my nieces and nephews are visiting and I want to win Cool Aunt Points, I order them this caffeine-free Caramel Creme Frappuccino.

This item is a twist on the standard Caramel Frappuccino by adding extra creme and removing the coffee - perfect for caramel-loving kids and adults!

The Caramel Creme Frappuccino is made with milk, caramel syrup, creme Frappuccino syrup, caramel drizzle, and whipped cream on top.

For some, this option may be too sweet without the slightly acidic coffee taste mixed in - I tend to add a shot of decaf espresso to fix that.

This drink is roughly 300-400 calories.

  • Milk
  • Coffee Frappuccino Syrup
  • Whipped Cream
  • Vanilla Syrup
  • Coffee
  • Dark Caramel Sauce
  • Caramel Sauce
  • Caramel Sugar Topping

The caramel ribbon crunch Frappuccino is the sweetest Starbucks drink on my list - and I love it!

The drink is made with coffee and blended with a slew of sugary ingredients, including ice, dark caramel sauce, caramel syrup, caramel sauce drizzle, and milk, with whipped cream on top.

Crunchy caramel chocolates are also added to the whipped cream create the "ribbon crunch" in the name.

The caramel ribbon crunch Frappuccino is high in calories (470 calories) but makes for a delicious sweet snack reminiscent of a caramel milkshake.

I recommend it as an occasional dessert rather than a daily part of your morning coffee routine - there can unfortunately be too much of a good thing.

11. Cap N’ Crunch Frappuccino

Starbucks Cap N' Crunch Frappuccino
Cap N’ Crunch Frappuccino Standard Ingredients
  • Strawberries
  • Crème Frappuccino
  • toffee syrup
  • caramel syrup
  • hazelnut syrup
  • whipped cream
  • java chips
  • extra caramel sauce (Topping)

One of the most unique secret menu options from Starbucks is the Cap N' Crunch Frappuccino.

I grew up on Cap N' Crunch cereal, so this beverage is an ideal throwback drink to sip on a hot summer day.

Everything from the syrup combo to the java chips creates that delicious buttery caramel taste that I often crave when staying up too late.

The resulting taste is a more refined Cap N' Crunch cereal swirl shake that I can enjoy with my nieces and nephews.

This drink is roughly 300-400 calories.

Ask Barista For:

A tall Strawberries and Creme Frappuccino, then ask for 1 pump of toffee syrup and 1 pump of caramel syrup, and 1 pump of hazelnut syrup. Then ask for whipped cream and java chips to top it all off, with a bit of extra caramel sauce on top.

12. Caramel Coffee Jelly Frappuccino

Starbucks Caramel Coffee Jelly Frappuccino
Caramel Coffee Jelly Frappuccino Standard Ingredients
  • coffee jelly
  • coffee
  • caramel Frappuccino
  • milk

I only recently discovered that some international Starbucks have coffee jelly - as a boba lover, you know I had to try it!

The Caramel Coffee Jelly Frappuccino is a mixture of three layers: coffee jelly, coffee, and caramel Frappuccino with milk.

The Starbucks coffee jelly adds a unique taste to the drink, making it fluffy yet chewy and slightly bitter as well as sweet.

The jelly makes it feel more like something I'd get at a boba shop like Chatime rather than

This is an item that every caramel coffee lover should try. - it's actually my new favorite Starbucks obsession!

This drink is roughly 300-400 calories. Unfortunately, the coffee jelly has yet to make its way to US Starbucks - I'll be counting down the hours until it heads over here.

Caramel Apple Spice Standard Ingredients
  • Apple Juice
  • Cinnamon Dolce Syrup
  • Whipped Cream
  • Caramel Sauce

Steamed apple juice, caramel drizzle, and cinnamon dolce syrup? Count me in!

The Starbucks Caramel Apple Spice beverage is a hot drink that mixes delicious savory apple juice with hot caramel, and just a touch of spice from the cinnamon dolce syrup.

If caramel apple and caramel cider had a child, this drink would be it - real fall vibes here.

I adore apple juice and this is one of my favorite things to order when I want a break from caffeine or a hit of nostalgia.

The lack of caffeine in this beverage makes it a great afternoon choice when I want to avoid disrupting my sleep schedule, and the spicy cinnamon dolce syrup makes the caramel apple spice a bit different.

This drink is roughly 200-300 calories.

14. Caramel Brulee Latte

Starbucks Caramel Brulee Latte
Caramel Brulée Latte Standard Ingredients
  • espresso
  • caramel brulée sauce
  • steamed milk
  • whipped cream
  • caramel brulee bits
  • extra caramel brulée sauce (Topping)

As it gets chilly and dark outside, I start to get hyped for one of my fave seasonal drinks to return - the Caramel Brulee Latte.

This beverage is made with Starbucks espresso, caramel brulée sauce, and steamed milk.

The whipped cream topping with caramel brulee bits and extra caramel brulée sauce is honestly my favorite part.

The combination of smokey and sweet caramel flavor from the caramel brulée sauce makes this a winning choice for caramel lovers like me.

I love ordering this when I want to tone down the sweetness of traditional caramel lattes.

The caramel brulée latte is roughly 300-400 calories.

15. Iced Caramel Brulée Latte

Starbucks Iced Caramel Brulee Latte
Iced Caramel Brulée Latte Standard Ingredients
  • ice
  • espresso
  • milk
  • caramel Brulée sauce
  • Whipped cream
  • Extra caramel brulee sauce (Topping)

The Iced Caramel Brulee Latte is made exactly the same as the hot version, but with the addition of ice. This latte contains ice, caramel brulee sauce, milk, and Starbucks espresso.

Whipped cream is added on top with additional caramel brulee sauce.

The ice helps cut through the sweetness and balances out the flavors, which makes this a fave drink for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up for me.

I'm honestly not sure if I prefer the iced version to the hot version - depends on the day honestly!

A cold drink like this really hits the spot on a warm day, but this version is also a seasonal drink, so I have to savor it when I can.

This drink is roughly 300-400 calories.

16. Caramel Brulée Frappuccino

Starbucks Caramel Brulee Frappuccino
Caramel Brulée Frappuccino Standard Ingredients
  • Espresso
  • milk
  • caramel Brulée sauce
  • whipped cream
  • crunchy brulee bits

Another fave seasonal drink on my list is the Caramel Brulee Frappuccino, which is a sweeter version of the Iced Caramel Brulee latte.

Espresso, caramel brulee sauce, and milk are blended together to create a sweet, smokey delicious frappuccino. The drink is finished with crunchy brulee bits and whipped cream.

I love the brulee smokey taste but sometimes want a sweeter option - this beverage is the way to get the best of both worlds.

I love this but it can be quite sweet, so I tend to only get a Tall to avoid a complete sugar coma!

This drink is roughly 350-450 calories.

17. Iced White Chocolate Mocha with Caramel Drizzle

Starbucks Iced White Chocolate Mocha with Caramel Drizzle and Cold Foam
Iced White Chocolate Mocha with Caramel Drizzle Standard Ingredients
  • ice
  • white mocha
  • vanilla sweet cream foam
  • dark caramel sauce

An Iced White Chocolate Mocha with Caramel Drizzle is a drink that you won't find anywhere on the Starbucks menu.

Since I saw this take on one of my fave drinks pop up on my feed, I have been obsessed!

I immediately drove down to my local Starbucks - and I found heaven in a Starbucks parking lot that day.

Mochas are my absolute jam and the combo of dark caramel, white chocolate, and vanilla is just so sweet and delicious.

The espresso cuts through everything to stop things getting too tooth-achingly sweet, but this is another occasional treat rather than an everyday order.

Ask Barista For:

A Tall Iced White Mocha, then ask for vanilla sweet cream foam with dark caramel sauce on top.

18. Twix Frappuccino

Starbucks Twix Frappuccino
Twix Frappuccino Standard Ingredients
  • Milk
  • Coffee Frappuccino Syrup
  • Whipped Cream
  • Vanilla Syrup
  • Caramel Sauce
  • dark caramel sauce
  • hazelnut syrup
  • extra caramel syrup
  • java chips
  • mocha sauce drizzle

A Twix Frappuccino is another Starbucks secret drink, but it's one of the best caramel drinks at Starbucks.

I grew up snacking on Twix bars in my packed lunch so of course I had to try this.

I don't know what wizardry Starbucks baristas pull but this tastes exactly like a Twix, creating a milkshake version of my fave snack.

Chocolate, caramel, coffee, hazelnut - all my fave things in one drink? Talk about a recipe for a new fave Frappuccino!

I don't order this everyday but it is a great way to celebrate special milestones every now and again.

This drink is roughly 400-500 calories.

Ask Barista For:

A standard Caramel Frappuccino with dark caramel sauce. Then ask for two pumps of hazelnut syrup, extra caramel syrup, java chips, and mocha sauce drizzled on top!

19. Raspberry Caramel Macchiato

Starbucks Iced Raspberry Caramel Macchiato
Raspberry Caramel Macchiato Standard Ingredients
  • Milk
  • Brewed Espresso
  • raspberry syrup
  • Caramel Sauce

A Raspberry Caramel Macchiato is a yummy secret Starbucks drink combining fruit and caramel - talk about indulgent!

This simple change from vanilla syrup to raspberry syrup takes the delicious iced drink and creates an infusion of raspberry and caramel.

I admit, I initially had my doubts about whether I'd like raspberry, coffee, and caramel together - but it totally works!

I love how well these all blend together and the color gradient is so pretty. A new regular of my Starbucks drink rotation for sure!

The raspberry caramel macchiato has roughly 200-300 calories.

Ask Barista For:

A standard Caramel Macchiato with raspberry syrup instead of vanilla syrup.

How To Order These Caramel Drinks When In Store

When you go to Starbucks, there are numerous caramel drink options on the regular menu (plus countless secret menu options).

You can add caramel flavoring to any Starbucks hot or cold drink for a fun twist or to create your own secret menu item.

However, most of the time, adding caramel will incur an additional charge between $0.35 to $1.50 (depending on how many pumps, etc. you add).

There are three different caramel options you can play with: add Caramel drizzle, add Caramel Sauce, or add Caramel Syrup.

Caramel Sauce

Caramel Sauce comes from a syrup box and is rich, creamy, and thick. Caramel drizzle is the same as caramel sauce, but it is applied differently.

The sauce tends to be added into the drink and will clump towards the bottom or around the sides.

Caramel drizzle

An extra caramel drizzle tends to be placed on top of the drink and sits on the whipped cream.

If you are getting a non-whip cream drink, then I recommend asking for caramel sauce rather than caramel drizzle (even though, technically, they are the same thing).

Starbucks online order for caramel brulee latte

Caramel Syrup

Caramel syrup is thinner and is also dairy-free.

Caramel syrup is the best option when you want the drink to blend well and you want the caramel to add flavoring without being noticeable texture-wise.

You can feel caramel sauce and drizzle with your tongue, but the syrup is going to blend into the drink like any other main ingredient

Dark Caramel Sauce

Starbucks also offers a dark caramel sauce as an alternative caramel sugar topping.

The dark caramel sauce has a deeper flavor which is used some a few specific caramel drinks at Starbucks, but you can always ask your barista to use dark caramel sugar instead.

You can also customise your Starbucks caramel drinks by adding extra syrups and flavors. Cinnamon dolce syrup and vanilla syrup work well with caramel, but there's loads of options to try!
