How To Order Dutch Bros Online

Much like other large coffee chains' apps, this company recently released the Dutch Bros App, and I’m a big fan of ordering ahead![3]

You can earn points and get drinks gratis by ordering with their online menu. Once you download it, you’ll have a complimentary drink waiting for you!

Once installed, you can see all of your DB purchases and enter in your payment info so you can pay just by scanning your app.

You can order ahead online by simply selecting what you want from their menu and paying through PayPal, debit, or credit card - however you prefer!

How To Order At Dutch Bros In 8 Simple Steps

Whether you want to order keto at Dutch Bros or simply try the exact concoction of flavors you have in mind, I'm here to ensure you always order the perfect beverage at this coffee shop.

1. Pick A Drink Size

Starbucks has their Tall, Grande, and Venti sizes, but at DB, you just have Small, Medium, and Large. Easy enough, right?

Start off your order with the size that you’d like. This makes it easier for your broista, as they can have the right size of cup in hand while you say the rest of your order.

Remember that the cup size will change depending on if you order it hot, iced, or blended.

Hot Drinks

  • Small: 12 ounces
  • Medium: 16 ounces
  • Large: 20 ounces

Cold Drinks

  • Small: 16 ounces
  • Medium: 24 ounces
  • Large: 32 ounces

Blended Drinks

  • Small: 16 ounces
  • Medium: 24 ounces
  • Large: 32 ounces
Tips From A Barista
  • The ounces are different from hot to cold as cold drinks need to account for the ice taking up space in the cup. You still get the same amount of liquid in your drink, there just needs to be room for ice, too

2. Pick A Drink Type

Are you feeling like a warm and cozy drink or something cold and refreshing?

Coffee drinks are traditionally served hot, but if you’re someone who likes smoothies, there’s nothing better than a blended espresso drink packed with caffeine and tasty toppings!

If you want a regular coffee, know that they don’t have drip coffee. So, you’d be getting an Americano (espresso shots with water).

There are other hot drinks on the menu, like Dutch Bros teas and their delicious hot chocolate.

Their iced drinks are pretty straightforward: they’re basically the hot beverages but with cold liquid poured over ice.

Blended drinks are just the original drinks blended with ice, like Dutch Bros smoothies and Frappuccinos.

3. Pick A Flavor Combo

This is where you really get to have fun! Thanks to the enormous amount of different flavored syrups, you can always try a different drink.

You could do a Dutch Bros cold brew cold or blended with whip and sprinkles, for example (highly recommended!).

Alternatively, try non-espresso iced drinks like their thirst-quenching Dutch Bros lemonades or Dutch Soda!

You truly can order whatever drink you want to sip on, whether it’s regular or decaf, sweet or bitter, plain or complex, and everything in-between.

Tip From A Barista
  • Not sure where to start? I recommend either looking up the menu online beforehand, looking up secret menu flavor combos, or asking your broista before you order

4. Add Modifiers

Dutch Bros focuses on making sure drinks are prepared exactly the way you want them. You can order yours extra sweet, with an extra shot, extra creamy, etc.

White Coffee: Try white coffee instead of their regular beans![1] Dutch Bros white coffee has a higher caffeine content and a slight nutty taste that really rounds out the taste.

Whipped Cream: You can order yours with a whip straw, which is literally when they cover your entire straw in whipped cream.

Milk: This coffee shop likely has the widest variety of milk options of any I’ve seen. You have 2% dairy, almond, oat, soy, coconut milk, and more.

Dub Shot: A double shot of espresso that adds some extra kick to regular drinks!

Extra: Most of the coffee world seems to measure taste by pump, but here, it’s by the scoop. Just ask for an extra scoop or whatever flavor combinations you want, and they’ll do just that.

Tip From A Barista
  • Have a little fun by ordering yours "Picture Perfect," where they add chocolate and caramel sauce around the cup and over a big dollop of whip!
    • "Parfait Style" is where they layer your drink with whip!

5. Add Syrups & Sauces

The DB coffee shop uses Torani products to create their flavor combinations.

They currently offer about 30 flavors at any time, but there are some seasonal featured flavors, as well.

Oh, and many of these come in sugar-free, too!

Here are some of the most common syrups:

  • Almond
  • Banana
  • Blackberry
  • Blue Raspberry
  • Chocolate Macadamia Nut
  • Cinnamon - one of my faves!
  • Coconut (SF available) - not my go-to as I'm not a coconut person
  • Creme de Menthe - another fave!
  • Hazelnut (SF available)
  • Irish Cream (SF available) - one of my go-tos come winter!
  • Red Raspberry (SF available)
  • Vanilla (SF available)

  • White Chocolate (SF available)
  • Dark Chocolate (SF available)
  • Caramel

6. Add Toppings

To finish off your drink, you may want to add some Dutch Bros toppings! My nieces and nephews seem to love the Birthday Sprinkles - just saying!

  • Birthday Sprinks
  • Cinnamon Sprinks
  • Chocolate Sprinks
  • Nutmeg Sprinks
  • Soft Top
  • Raw Sugar

7. Collect Your Sticker

Before you leave the drive-thru, make sure you grab your sticker!

They offer monthly and special stickers, and a new sticker is released on the first Wednesday of each month.

I have a collection I’ve started by sticking them on my laptop and water bottle - I'm rapidly running out of space!

Before You Go to Dutch Bros (Important Tips To Know)

If you aren't used to it, be prepared for friendly employees who offer fantastic customer service.

I’m the kind of person who has to peruse the online menu and all the Yelp photos of a place before I order anything. Especially if I’m not familiar with their lingo already.

I was so nervous on my first visit and, despite my research, had no idea what to order.

I shyly asked my broista what she recommended and she instantly asked me what flavors I normally like and recommended a few options, like the Caramelizer, Golden Eagle, and Vanilla Chai.

It made me feel so at ease that she took the time to help me out. Truly, there are very few shops I've been to that come close to it.

Pay them a visit, and you'll see what I'm talking about!

Tip From A Barista
  • Try looking up the menu online or searching for popular flavor combos beforehand to get inspo!
