I’m a serious coffee addict, so when my stomach started becoming sensitive to regular espresso, it made me quite disappointed.

Luckily, Dutch Bros White Coffee was there to save the day.

With great flavor, lower acidity, and even more caffeine than DB’s regular espresso, it has been a gift from the coffee gods.

I know there are still many people who don’t know about white coffee, so I’m about to share it all!

What Is White Coffee At Dutch Bros?

White coffee is a type of espresso bean roasted at a lower temperature and at around half the roasting time.

Coffee beans start out green, then golden-white, and finally brown, as the roasting process continues.

White coffee is the lightest roast of coffee that can be achieved for caffeine content. This shorter roasting time and lower temperature have a massive effect on both its caffeine content and overall taste compared to regular roast or dark roast.

Dutch Bros White Coffee contains around 10 calories, 2 g of carbs, and 1 g of protein per serving.

Taste

The under-roasting process of white coffee gives the final blend a low acidity and subtle flavor that is great for people who do not enjoy strong coffee.

The flavor profile of white coffee is nutty and earthy, like roasted hazelnut, burnt toffee, and brown sugar.

It’s mild, smooth, and doesn’t overwhelm more ‘delicate’ syrup flavors like caramel or vanilla.

Caffeine Content

Here’s a fun fact: the lighter the roast, the higher the caffeine.

It’s estimated that Dutch Bros’ Private Reserve white coffee contains around 136 mg per 2 shots, versus the 93 mg of their regular coffee blend.

That’s a massive ~25% difference!

However, it is estimated that most white coffee beans have at least twice the caffeine level of a standard cup of coffee.

This higher caffeine content is due to how the beans are roasted. As coffee beans are roasted, the caffeine is burned off over time.

Dairy Content

There’s no dairy in the actual white coffee, itself.

However, dairy goes perfectly with it, as the coffee flavor isn’t so bold that it overwhelms the palate. On the contrary, it’s smooth and mild, complementing dairy and alternative milk flavors.

Whole, non-fat, breve, almond, oat, coconut, and soy milk all work great.

Sizes Available

There are currently three different cup sizes at Dutch Bros: small, medium, and large.

Small Hot: 12 oz.
Small Cold: 16 oz.

Medium Hot: 16 oz.
Medium Cold: 24 oz.

Large Hot: 20 oz.
Large Cold: 32 oz.

White Coffee Golden Eagle Standard Ingredients
  • White coffee
  • half and half
  • vanilla syrup
  • caramel sauce
  • whipped cream
  • caramel sauce drizzle

The Dutch Bros Golden Eagle is one of the most popular drinks at DB, and is also highly-customizable.[1]

This version contains white coffee espresso, breve, vanilla syrup, and caramel sauce drizzled over whipped cream.

The white coffee’s nuttiness complements the rich caramel and vanilla perfectly, rather than overpowering it.

This delicious drink can be served blended, iced, or hot.

Tips From a Barista:
  • For a less ‘heavy’ drink, substitute another milk for the breve.

2. White Coffee Cookie Breve

Dutch Bros White Coffee Cookie Breve
White Coffee Cookie Breve Standard Ingredients
  • White coffee
  • half and half
  • white chocolate sauce
  • chocolate macadamia nut syrup

Seriously, this one is like drinking a cookies and cream chocolate bar!

The White Coffee Cookie Breve is heavy on the cream, with white chocolate sauce, white coffee, and chocolate macadamia nut syrup.

Once again, the earthy flavors of the white chocolate work very well with the more ’natural’ flavors of the chocolate macadamia nut syrup.

It feels cozy, it’s decadent, and also tastes incredible with oat milk instead of half and half.

How to Order:
  • Order a White Coffee Breve with white chocolate sauce and chocolate macadamia nut syrup. Bonus points for whipped cream on top.

3. White Zombie or White Angel

Dutch Bros White Zombie with Pumpkin
White Zombie Or White Angel Standard Ingredients
  • White Coffee
  • half and half
  • white chocolate
  • vanilla syrup
  • coconut syrup (for White Angel)
The White Zombie and White Angel are super similar, melty-sweet drinks that are perfect for typical white chocolate mocha fans. [2

They’re both breves, made with white coffee, half and half (breve), vanilla syrup, and white chocolate.

The only difference between the two, is that the Angel includes coconut syrup, too.

I love both of them iced with whip, but they taste equally as delicious hot.

4. The Nutty Irishman with White Coffee

Dutch Bros Iced White Coffee Nutty Irishman with Soft Top
The Nutty Irishman with White Coffee Standard Ingredients
  • White Coffee
  • milk
  • Irish cream
  • hazelnut syrups

This...is a work of art.

The Nutty Irishman with White Coffee is a spin on a classic Irish coffee, and can be made with any milk or temperature.

There isn’t really a ’standard’ Nutty Irishman, so it can be ordered as a breve, mocha, Americano, etcetera.

It contains white coffee, Irish cream and hazelnut syrups, and milk.

I prefer it as an Americano with a splash of cream for a more ‘keto-friendly’ option, but they’re all tasty.

How to Order
  • Most Broistas know what the Nutty Irishman is, but if one by chance doesn’t, try ordering it as a ‘Kicker’ with hazelnut added.

Caramelizer Standard Ingredients
  • White coffee
  • exclusive chocolate milk
  • caramel sauce
  • whipped cream

Also known as a Caramel Mocha, the Caramelizer is another crowd favorite.[4]

It’s a combo I wouldn’t likely have thought of on my own, with coffee, Dutch Bros’ exclusive chocolate milk, ribbons of caramel sauce, and whipped cream on top.

I love this drink hot, cold, and blended, but I always prefer it with white coffee as it doesn’t drown out the other flavors.

I love chocolate, and feel the white coffee really lets the mocha flavors shine here while still providing a jolt of energy to get through the day.

How to Order
  • As I mentioned already, the Caramelizer is literally just a Caramel Mocha. If the Broista by some chance doesn’t know the Caramelizer, ask for the Caramel Mocha instead.
  • Make sure to mention white coffee first. For example, “I’d like a White Coffee Caramelizer”.

6. Oat Milk White Chocolate Lavender Latte with White Coffee

Dutch Bros Iced White Chocolate Lavender Latte
Oat Milk White Chocolate Lavender Latte Standard Ingredients
  • White Coffee
  • oat milk
  • lavender syrup
  • white chocolate sauce

Definitely the most interesting drink on my list, I wasn’t initially drawn to this one as I am not a big lavender fan.

However, I started wondering why it was so trendy and had to try the Oat Milk White Chocolate Lavender Latte for myself.[5]

Available as a cold brew or Frost, this light, white drink was a seasonal drink made with white coffee, oat milk, lavender syrup, and white chocolate sauce.

It tastes kind of like a more herbal, tea-like latte with the white coffee there to add another layer of earthy flavor.

How to Order
  • Order an Oat Milk White Coffee Latte with lavender syrup and white chocolate sauce. Keep in mind that not every location will have lavender syrup available year-round.
