Now For The Fun Part! How Do They Actually Taste?
As I drove my two cases of Spiked drinks home, I wondered how they would taste.
I love coffee and tea, but I am not a malty alcohol kind of person, so I had some reservations going in.
Although I have a notorious sweet tooth, even I have my limits - would they be too sweet even for me?
How strong would the alcohol taste be?
There was only one way to find out.
1. Dunkin Spiked Coffees
Spiked Original
On cracking a cold Original open, I was hit with a strong coffee smell - we were off to a good start.
However, my first few sips were very sugar- and alcohol-forward, with the coffee waiting until the sip was over to show itself.
I enjoyed the vanilla and chocolate elements, but they were often lost in the poorly balanced sweetness and alcohol.
Spiked Caramel
From the first sip, the Caramel was a very sweet and rich hit of coffee with notes of burnt sugar and toffee. Caramel became more of an aftertaste than a harmonious note in a symphony.
The mouthfeel was also somehow syrupy compared to the other coffees I tried, which I did not love.
Overall, the Caramel was okay, but it would not be my first choice.

Spiked Mocha
My love of coffee started as a teenager when I began drinking mochas. I still get an occasional mocha when I’m feeling indulgent and could not wait to see how this would taste.
There was a strong chocolatey scent on opening the can that I enjoyed.
The first few sips were intensely sweet with a hint of coffee bitterness that blended well with the background alcohol taste. The mouthfeel was thinner than the others, which was also a big plus.
Overall, the Mocha did the best job of balancing and blending the flavors out of the coffee Spiked range. This was my favorite of all the Spiked iced coffees.
Spiked Vanilla
Vanilla lattes are a big hit in my house, so this was another one I was very curious about.
The Vanilla was strong and sweet, almost like a creamy White Russian or vanilla liqueur. The coffee taste was not particularly strong, but I did not mind the subtlety.
Overall, the Vanilla also did a better job at balancing things out but just lost out to the Mocha for me.
2. Spiked Dunkin Iced Teas
Slightly Sweet
If you love a hard iced tea like I do, you will love the Slightly Sweet.
Despite its namesake, each sip was definitely on the sweeter side but gave a more mellow alcoholic flavor.
This inoffensive and straightforward spiked tea had a nice balance of black tea and lemon with a pleasant tea aftertaste that felt refreshing.
Half & Half
Half & Half is an even split between lemonade and black tea that really works.
Something about it reminds me of an Arnold Palmer with just a little more sourness than the previous flavor.
Half & Half packs a punch while remaining refreshing and light on the alcohol taste.
Just keep an eye on how much you’re drinking - I can imagine it being all too easy to go through quite a few without noticing.

Strawberry Dragonfruit
The Refreshers drinks of the same name inspire both the Strawberry Dragonfruit and the Mango Pineapple flavors.
Admittedly, the shockingly fuschia color did put me off initially. However, this sweet and refreshing drink was perfectly bright and fruity without tasting too artificial.
The taste reminded me of a strawberry margarita, which was an absolute win.
The Strawberry Dragonfruit was my absolute favorite flavor across both lines.
Mango Pineapple
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love mango and cocktails, so you know that I had to try the Mango Pineapple out.
This vibrant drink was light and tropical, perfectly balancing the fruit, tea, and alcohol flavors. Many similar drinks attempt to bring those vacay vibes, but this is one of the few that nails it.
That said, it just lost out to the Strawberry Dragonfruit for the top spot.
