The part I like most is that I can buy one without leaving home.
With the ease of online purchasing, I can buy a DB card from the comfort of my home and send it directly to my recipient’s email.
According to Dutch Bros, you can also reload the card online, and the card does not expire, so it can sit in a wallet or app for a while before it gets used.

All of them can be sent with a customized greeting card, too!
Can you buy Dutch Bros gift cards in store?
Yes, Dutch Bros gift cards are available in store.
I still like handing over a physical card when I can, since it feels a little more personal than a message in an inbox.
That makes them useful for stocking stuffers and for last-minute gifts when I need something simple and quick.
I also like that DB offers packs of cards, which is handy when one gift needs to cover a few people.

For the digital card, the process is pretty direct.

How to activate and use a Dutch Bros gift card
Once the card is purchased, activating and using a Dutch Bros gift card is straightforward.
There are a couple of ways to do it:
- First, many transfer the funds onto the Dutch Bros mobile app. This makes checking out easy at the register and earn rewards using the Dutch Pass. Then, just open the app, select "Add Card," and follow the prompts to transfer the funds from the gift card to the app.
- Whether using a physical or digital Dutch Bros gift card, I just provide my Broista with the gift card's QR code or physical card at checkout. They will scan the code, deduct the purchase amount, and the remaining balance will be displayed on the receipt.
- Check gift card balance on the Dutch Bros website.
Dutch Bros vs Starbucks gift card: What’s the difference?
Dutch Bros coffee gift cards and Starbucks gift cards work in a similar way, but there are a few differences worth keeping in mind.
First, Dutch Bros coffee gift cards are primarily available through their stores and web page. In contrast, Starbucks gift cards are widely available at many retailers.
I’ve seen Starbucks gift cards sold at gas stations in places where I would never expect to find a coffee chain card, which makes the Dutch Bros setup feel a little less widespread.
Both companies have loyalty programs. Dutch Bros has the “Dutch Pass” rewards program, which allows customers to receive points each time they order. The points can be redeemed for a free drink, merchandise, and more.
Starbucks calls their program the “Starbucks Rewards” program, also allowing customers to earn points for purchases and redeem them for a free drink or food item.
